This two-day workshop will bring together WG4 members and young researchers to collaborate on science and warning communication within AlertHub. The workshop will combine discussions on current challenges in science and warning communication with practical co-creation sessions focused on developing and refining communication outputs related to AlertHub activities. Additionally, guest speakers and facilitators with relevant experience in science communication—and diverse professional backgrounds (such as science and technology journalism, academia, and media and communications)—will provide participants with exposure to a range of perspectives within the field of science communication. During the working sessions, participants will work on translating research findings into accessible formats (e.g., infographics and stakeholder-oriented communication products), guided by science communication principles such as clarity, accessibility, visual communication, and audience-oriented messaging. The workshop aims to further understanding of science communication principles as well as to strengthen collaboration across working groups and support young researchers.
