About this event
One year after its launch, AlertHub brings partners together to take stock of progress and look ahead to the next stage of the project. Over two days, members of the Management Committee and the four Working Groups meet to review achievements, align priorities, and define the path forward. The programme begins with a Management Committee session and updates on planned initiatives, followed by a keynote address by Timothy Sellnow and Deanna Sellnow titled “A Good IDEA for Multimodal Alerts and Warnings.” Their presentation highlights innovative, research-based approaches to strengthening alert and warning systems through multimodal communication strategies. In the afternoon, the four Working Groups meet to present results, exchange insights, and coordinate their next steps. The second day focuses on consolidating discussions and defining concrete future actions. A key highlight of the meeting is a field visit to the Department for Emergency Situations, where participants gain first-hand insight into the institutional framework behind RO-ALERT, Romania’s national push notification system. The visit offers valuable perspectives on the operational realities and implementation challenges of modern emergency warning systems, further strengthening the project’s shared commitment to improving public safety communication.
