Dr. habil. Dr. habil. Dinah Kristin Rode is a socioeconomist at the German Meteorological Service (Deutscher Wetterdienst, DWD) where she currently leads a subproject within the RainBoW program (Risk-based, Application-oriented and INdividualizaBle Provision of Optimized Warning Information), advancing user-centered warning strategies. Prior to joining DWD, she conducted research at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, BfR) and held academic positions at Justus Liebig University Giessen, where she also taught and developed courses. With a background spanning linguistics, social research (qualitative and quantitative), and risk communication, and a PhD & a postdoctoral qualification (Habilitation) in linguistics, professor Dinah Kristin Rode brings a unique perspective to designing accessible and actionable warning systems, that also integrates a strong commitment to inclusive public communication and building societal resilience.
